Alec Lazo
Alec Lazo is a unique Ballroom Dancesport professional whose career has spanned over twenty years of performing, coaching, instructing, and competitive Dancesport. His first competitive highpoint was when he became the US Rising Star Latin Champion in 1990. He continued through 18 years on the Dancesport circuit as he established himself as a top-level exponent of professional Dancesport.
Recently, Alec competed in the American Smooth and Rhythm divisions of the US Championships and he became the US Nine Dance Champion. Alec has been awarded many titles in several Dancesport styles and has appeared numerous times in television and theater in various capacities. He has traveled the US judging competitions, lecturing, coaching, consulting, and performing.
As a long time studio owner Alec is very happy to be back where his dancing career started. The beatiful island of Palm Beach is the perfect setting and provides the perfect backdrop to learn how to dance.
Recently, Lazo has transitioned into the world of Broadcast media as a Spokesperson, Guest Host , and Artist. His most recent work has been two national PBS specials titled: "Tango: The Spirit of Argentina", and "Latin Fiesta at the Philharmonic."
Throughout his career, Alec has maintained an interest and presence in the world of Real Estate Investment and finance as an Investor-landlord, Licensed Mortgage Broker, and Licensed Realtor. Mary Overall Real Estate is located just below the studio in the Paramount building, and is where Alec services his Real Estate clients.
