In June 2008, the staff of the Paramount Ballroom took nine students on a three-day extravaganza to Daytona, Florida, to compete in the Central Florida Heat dance competition. Students competed Pro/Am in various dances and levels from the smooth styles of waltz and tango to the energetic latin including cha cha and swing. The results were astounding: two of Paramount's students received Top Student awards in different categories pertaining to their levels, and one of Paramount's valued instructors, Brian Baker, received runner-up for the Top Teacher award. Paramount Ballroom finished with flying colors as it received the award for Top Studio.

No stranger to the competitive Dancesport world, Paramount Ballroom's owner, Alec Lazo, is a two-time US professional Dancesport champion. He has recently transitioned into the judging world and adjudicated the USA National DanceSport Championships, a position that granted him the ability to select the best dancers in the country to compete in the World Championships to represent the US. While there, he was seen "rubbing elbows" with Dancing with the Stars professionals such as Maksim Chmerkovsky and season one's Charlotte Jorgensen.

The Paramount Staff specializes in beginners and wedding couples as well as social and competitive level dancing.

Owner, Mr. Lazo, has successfully managed to bring together all of the best elements that could go into a dance studio. He has placed them in a location and venue that could not be more appealing or suitable, and colored the venue with an ambiance that is sure to stimulate even the most discerning. Come and see what all the excitement is about!
